A day after four unknown women stole a diamond necklace worth Rs 7 lakh from a jewellery store, police have taken the images of the accused from the CCTV footage. The SHO said that the women have not yet been identified or traced.
The incident occurred on Friday when four women came on cycle rickshaws with their faces covered by jackets, sunglasses and scarfs. One of the women went to the security guard asking for something to light a cigarette with. In order to help the woman, the security guard left his place in search of a match box. Meanwhile, another woman came and slowly picked a necklace from a counter and hid it in her jacket and suddenly moved out of the shop.
Later the owner, through the CCTV footage, found out about the crime.
The jab at Mitt Romney's goofy debate line drove the crowd into a frenzy of applause and laughter. Cleland was on hand to pay tribute to Warren's effort at fighting against the various strains of mortgage fraud that have victimized so many returning veterans and their families.
In many respects the folks who flooded this church in the center of town looked no different than a crowd Scott Brown might attract. With the exception of Newton Mayor Setti Warren, whom the candidate jokingly referred to as “my cousin,” it was a white, suburban audience who screamed for the wisp of a woman who stood before them in her standard red jacket and black slacks.
Also standing in that supportive background chorus of vets and pols yesterday was Ed Kelly, the impassioned and incendiary former president of Boston Firefighters Local 718. The self-described “Dot rat” is now the head of the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts.
“My idea of going to Harvard,” Kelly told me yesterday, “is falling asleep on the Red Line.” He also told me that he's spent most of the past two weeks riding a bus across this state with Elizabeth Warren.
“I've come to know Elizabeth,” Kelly said, “and she's a really good woman. I can tell you that I feel much more comfortable realizing that if Elizabeth Warren had to choose between her own self-interest and that of the working men and women I serve, there's no doubt in my mind that she'd stand with us.
“And I can't say that about Scott Brown,” he added. “Look at the votes he's taken and it's clear that Scott is there for Scott.
“What I've stressed to our rank and file,” Kelly said, “is that Scott's barn jacket and the pick-up truck is all well and good. He's got a very nice family and he can get dressed up in his National Guard uniform and, of course, he looks like the guy you could have a beer with.
“Only his votes say that he's Wall Street's favorite son. And what I've told our people is that we'd be much better off voting for Wall Street's worst nightmare than its favorite son. And that's why I was up there yesterday for Warren.”
