When the rain Gods shower their kindness on Gurgaon, it makes you wonder why you prayed for it in theWelcome to our michael kors outlet online shop! Gurgaonwaasis have come to expect traffic jams and clogged roads and even flooded homes, but when you move into a city specifically because the airport is so close - as many Gurgaonwallahs have - and its international terminal turns into a swimming pool twice in two months, you wonder if a high-flying, jet-setting lifestyle is any better than lugging it out in a train compartment. On Saturday, when the third heaviest rainfall in a decade made its way inside Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International airport, the 'second best airport in the world' title given to it by Airport Council International was making many gag and sputter. While in June, it was much worse, when pictures of passengers swimming through over escalators to get to check-in and security came out, this time too, it was a swim against the tide for passengers to get in and out of T3. Those present to witness the state of affairs tell us how it was.
I was embarrassed by the reaction of foreigners
Rajesh Arora, 55, a businessman from Ludhiana, who was travelling from London to Delhi, says, "Our flight was on time, but when we got to the arrivals area,Latest collection of Michael Kors Hamilton. I was shocked to see the situation at the terminal. There was water, almost one-and-a-half feet deep, and I had to fold my pants and raise my hand luggage in the air to get out of there. Our shoes were, of course, wet, and our hands were aching holding up the luggage until we finally found a trolley. A lot of other people were doing the same and an aged couple was holding wet shoes and socks in their hands while holding their handbags at the same time.Find great deals on hotmkbags for michael kors wallet Michael Kors Hamilton Bags in "Women's Clothing, Handbags and Purses". Shop with confidence. There was no one to assist them and one of them was about to slip. But every second person there was taking photos of the rainwater inside. Foreigners were doubly shocked and were muttering about what India is like. It was embarrassing, actually. But later, I heard they arranged for an elevated departure terminal. It didn't get better once I got out either. Its amazing how this is ranked as the second best airport in the world."
A flooded airport is a joke among us pilots
Jatin Sahani (name changed), a pilot working for a private airline,Shop the latest Michael Kors Jet Set Bags on the world's largest fashion site. based in Vasant Vihar, tells us how the situation is the same every time it rains. "Each time it rains, the situation is the same. It's now a joke in the pilot circuit, and we all carry an extra pair of uniform pants to change later on rainy days, because we know we will be dipped in ankle-deep water when we walk to our aircraft. It rains a lot more in London and also more often, but you don't see such a scenario at Heathrow. T3 might be well made with its branded shops and food court,Shop hotmkbags for the latest fashion trends in Michael Kors Shoulder Bags for ladies. but it lacks basic infrastructure. I obviously feel worse for passengers because the last time it rained heavily in June, no trolleys were available and the conveyor belts were shut too, so that leads to a lot of delays and inconvenience. As pilots, none of us want to be marked to fly on the days its raining. Personally, for me, it's even worse than the odd hours of night shifts."
I came in early to enjoy the 'T3 experience'
Deepika Baruah, 31, a housewife from Guwahati, who was travelling from T3 on Saturday afternoon, says, "The food court had water everywhere and even though I was hungry, I decided not to go and eat. There were some families who were stuck in the food court, and when their flights were announced, they were hopping over puddles to make it to the gates. My son was with me, and he was busy splashing around in water, so I had to keep a really tight hold on him. There were lots of workers who were sweeping and pumping out the water, so I wouldn't say nothing was being done. The departure was overcrowded with the arrival passengers also using it as an area to exit. Plus, the workers who were sweeping away water were adding to it. I checked in early, thinking I would enjoy shopping at T3, but there was nothing I could do except find a dry, safe spot before getting on my flight."
