Fur is dominating many Milan runways this season, which would be handy for this week’s unusually persistent snowy weather.

From big shaggy coats, often belted, to furry little details, fur has made a firm comeback for next winter’s womenswear _ with a classic mink coat returning after many seasons.
Many of the looks presented Sunday and over the first five days of Milan Fashion Week have been dyed in pinks, blues, reds, yellows and fake animal prints. When they are not using real fur,2012 Canada Goose Mountaineer Jacket er Hot salg på vår nettbutikk, alle produkt spare opptil 50% off For den beste varme i 2012. the designers have made fur look-alikes, such as mohair.

Huge cuffs, hemlines and collars accented classic tailoring for both coats and dresses.
Fur is also being used to compensate for all that bare skin designers are showing: A stole wrap over a strapless dress, or long fur gloves with sleeveless jackets. There were even furry boots and furry bags.

Some of the most imaginative uses were for shawls, wraps and stoles, allowing people with more limited budgets to experiment with the looks.

DOLCE&GABBANA
"La Dolce Vita" was the name of the game at Dolce&Gabbana, where the fun-loving designing duo recalled the sacred and profane of mundane Italian life, as exposed in director Federico Fellini’s 1960 movie.

The winter collection shown drew inspiration from Byzantine religious art and classic couture.
The show opened with a series of dresses in mosaic patterned silk, dripping with encrusted jewels and at times depicting an iconic image of a saint. Some of the outfits came with irreverent mini-bloomers.

To accessorize these already ornate outfits, the models wore a gilded crown, necklaces featuring a large Byzantine cross, heavy pendant earrings and velvet pumps with a thick jewel-encrusted heel.

Then came the couture look.
This evoked fancy ladies in demure sling backs and hair pulled back a la Princess Grace, wearing melange white and gray tweed suits with fitted jacket and flared skirt, or simple short-sleeved sheath dress.
Next followed a series of black silk dresses interspersed with lace, which could reference either a Sicilian widow’s wardrobe (Sicily is the designing duo’s trademark inspiration) or sophisticated cocktail hour attire, or even priestly garb.his online Canada Goose Outlet can offer you lots of styles and colors of the Canada Goose Citadel Parka with the wholesale price.

The same outfits came in (papal?) white or (cardinal?) red, both liturgical colors much in vogue at the moment as cardinals prepare to gather in Rome to elect a new pope. This Canadian-made Canada Goose Banff Parka from Canada Goose is one bright affair.

No matter the color, the outfits were heavily bejeweled.

MISSONI
Missoni gives women something to slip into next winter _ and to slip out of.

The predominantly casual looks blurred the lines between lounge wear, underwear and outwear.
Many of the overcoats resembled robes, worn languidly hanging from one shoulder and fittingly were tied with a ribbon "ready to be fastened and unfastened while in motion." Underneath were thinly knit men’s pajamas or silky dresses resembling negligees.

Sheath dresses were worn with unique net stockings, creating fresh textures, and knee-high boots. Panels of some of the dresses, skirts and tops were left provocatively transparent.

Shades were frosty whites, pinks or grays, along with stronger shades of gray or black.

These are looks to tuck into, which Missoni underlined sweetly by leaving chocolates on fashionistas’ seats.

Designer Angela Missoni waved briefly at the fashion crowd, something she couldn’t bring herself to do at the menswear previews last month, just after her brother Vittorio, the label’s CEO, had disappeared after takeoff from a Venezuelan vacation island along with five others. Neither the plane nor any of the occupants have been located.

MARNI
The Marni woman is decked out in fur for next winter.
Designer Consuelo Castiglioni used fur profusely. Skirts and coats have wide fur hems, enriching the tailored and constructed looks. There also were sumptuous shaggy fur coat-dresses, one in glowing gold and gray blend. And there were fur-accented arm warmers and furry clutches.

But the real piece de resistence are the fur wraps: stoles that coil around the neck and fall down the front or crisscross over the shoulders to provide some cover for strapless dresses; and two-tone shawl collars that zip snugly up the back.

Though the collection had a firmly cold-weather feel _ particularly expressed in the stiff materials like tweeds and velvets that characterized the line _ Marni challenged the season in many ways: Sleeveless coats. Shorts. Mini miniskirts. And flat trekking sandals,Clearance of Canada Goose Snow Mantra Parka is very popular in the our online store. worn with bare legs.

The silhouette was mostly modest, with skirts falling to the knee and below, but Castiglioni also teased at what she called "puritanical rigor," tucking transparent panels inside her pleated skirts.

EMPORIO ARMANI
Giorgio Armani mixes geographies and eras in a complex Emporio Armani collection that proposes something of a revolution: fashion with dignity.

In the Emporio collection previewed Sunday, a bowler hat with a playful rounded rim sets a yesteryear tone, immediately contradicted by oversized Jaipur-style earrings as Armani travels time and the world in a glance.

The collection centered on a decidedly feminine silhouette.
Short organza dresses were worn under wispy overcoats. Voluminous organza tops are belted over wide miniskirts. And long structural skirts are paired with warming mohair pullovers with three-quarter length sleeves, or fetching mohair sleeveless dresses with cropped pants. For Armani this round, mohair expresses fur. Double-breasted jackets were rounded at the hem for a ladylike look, and worn with organza skirts or trousers.

Armani said through this collection he wanted to "propose something to be contemporary without losing dignity." It’s a theme he has taken on in the past, the anti-vamp, using the influence of his runway to counter what has become the prevalent female media image in Italy, as sex object.

FERRAGAMO
The Salvatore Ferragamo show concentrates on shapes. All in black, white and navy blue, with no prints or bold shades, the clothes have to speak for themselves.

Massimiliano Giornetti, enuine Canada Goose Manitoba Jacket. jacket has never been worn. designer for the Florentine brand best known for its accessories, gives his winter styles a voice through sculpted silhouettes and carefully chosen fabrics.

A few examples: a wide Alpaca jacket is worn with an A-line short skirt in pony leather; an oversized cashmere pullover is paired with a dainty slip with beaded hemline; and a classic overcoat becomes even more classy when worked in shiny silk.

Even fur and leather are worked to highlight the artistry of the collection, starting with suede stitched in smocking, or beaver shorn to look like satin.

The famous Ferragamo shoe next winter is a knee-high boot with pointed toe and relatively low stiletto heel, cut out at the instep and laced up the barelegged back. The latest Ferragamo bag is a shopper with metal inserts.

BIAGIOTTI
Laura Biagiotti had her mind on Rome for her winter collection.

Not only was the ribbing of her cashmere outfits reminiscent of the sculpted lines of a classic marble column, but the Roman-born designer relaunched her signature `’Roma" perfume, which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary.

According to Biagiotti, the brand has sold 80 million bottles of the fragrance since its birth in 1988 and if lined up they would stretch from the Cinecitta film studios in Rome to Hollywood. A nice thought ahead of Sunday night’s Oscar awards ceremony.

Citizen journalists in Syria do much to give the world a picture of the death and destruction in their country, but some wonder whether guns might not trump cameras in the end. “We are the eyes of the world,” says Kinda, the only woman among 10 people working round-the-clock in a media center in the eastern oil hub of Deir Ezzor, laid waste by months of intense combat between rebels and troops of President Bashar Al-Assad.

“Without us, the world would not know what is happening..The Canada Goose Calgary Jacket maintains a high fashion profile.. because no Western news media has dared come here,” she said.

Colleague Abu Hussein, speaking of the horrors that he has witnessed, said he still finds “strength to keep doing this work every day, and I will continue to do it until we liberate Syria or I die.”

He echoes a remark made repeatedly by others across Syria, who have turned to citizen journalism as a way to get the story out. “Our weapons are our cameras, and those weapons are more powerful that any AK-47 (assault rifle) carried by a rebel. Our weapons raise awareness, they don't kill.”

But Saad Sulibi is not so sure, despondent that after nearly two years of conflict the war goes on, and “nobody helps us”.

Every time he goes to the front with his camera, he takes a rifle along.
“I record the fighting with my camera, but if they shoot at me I shoot back..This Canada Goose Chateau Parka Orange has generous appearance that make you look fashion and attractive in the crowd.. because my life is much more important than any image I might film. The fresh and unique styling of duvetica down jackets perfectly caters to a young and funky audience.”

Sulibi said he joined the pro-democracy movement when it first erupted in March 2011, but when he saw so many people being killed in a crackdown by Assad's regime “I decided to take up arms”

“And many times I wonder whether it wouldn't be better to stop filming and to fight with the Free Syrian Army.”

Akram Asaf has already done that, and now takes his rifle and camera along with him. “I fought for seven months... until I joined the (citizen journalists) after realizing that there were enough men to fight and that they needed someone filming on the front line.”

But that could change, said Asaf, who spends much of his time trying to show newcomers how to cover the story and not get killed in the process. “I go where I'm needed. As a Canada Goose Camp Down filling, the good quality of down leather-based performs a vital position in the brand's popularity. Today I'm with the activists, but it's possible that tomorrow I'll go back to the front line to fight.”

One man who didn't make it was Abu Omar, whose helmet and flak jacket lie on the chair that he used to occupy in the media center.
A colleague, Abu Hussein, said he died during a bombardment, “paying with his life to tell of the atrocities the regime commits against civilians every day.”

“To look at his things keeps him here with us and reminds us of why we do what we do,” Abu Hussein adds, expressing nothing but certainty that the work of citizen journalists is important.

He says the team sends images every day to what is called Channel Deir Ezzor, based in Egypt.

“We send the material and they run it,” Asaf explained. “It can be seen in Syria and around the world, because it's on satellite.”
Ironically, amid the talk of putting down the cameras and taking up arms, Asaf said the activists have recently been having problems with the Free Syrian Army because of misunderstandings.

“Some soldiers are forcing us to erase our videos, claiming that we are to blame for the regime shelling their positions,” he said. “The problem is that they get bombed whether we film or not.”

“We always ask permission to accompany them on an offensive, and they are generally agreeable to that. But when the fighting starts, they blame us and try to erase our footage.”

Abu Hussein said: “It's absurd, because they think that we are uploading to the Internet at the same time we film.”
Yet some rebel units are making their own films, “sending them to us to edit and upload on our channel or on YouTube.Unique Canada Goose Yukon Bomber with easy payment is so famous in the world market. That's good, because we can't be everywhere, and they get to places we can't reach”.

As expected, a Brazile took home a big check Saturday night in the finals of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo.Unique Canada Goose Yukon Bomber with easy payment is so famous in the world market.

But it wasn't Trevor Brazile, the winningest cowboy in the sport's history.

Moments after the celebrated $4.5 million competitor failed to lasso his calf in the tie-down roping championship round, his wife, Shada, blazed through the barrel racing in 13.93 seconds to capture that crown.

"Someone had to get us home, right?" Shada, laughing, said later of her $16,866 overall haul in her first competitive visit to the AT&T Center. The Canada Goose Calgary Jacket maintains a high fashion profile.

The championship, one of seven awarded on the closing night of the 18-day rodeo, provided a unique exclamation point in a night that included several of them.

The biggest arguably belonged to Josh Koschel. After capturing the lucrative Xtreme Bulls title Saturday afternoon, the Nunn, Colo., rider returned and captured the night's bull-riding crown and its $12,445 first prize. That pushed his total haul in San Antonio to $41,306.

Other winners included J.R. Vezain of Cowley, Wyo., in bareback riding ($17,030); Canadian Clayton Moore in steer wrestling ($15,310); Drew Horner of Plano and Buddy Hawkins II of Columbus, Kan., in team roping ($16,866 each); Tyler Corrington of Hastings, Minn., in saddle bronc riding ($16,293); and E.J. Roberts of Stephenville in tie-down roping ($17,357).

Vezain's triumph, after a score of 88 atop Dirty Jacket, was the most tense. After Kaycee Field of The Woodlands also scored 88, giving both men $10,889 on the night and $17,030 each overall, Vezain was awarded the gold buckle on a tiebreaker — he had won a previous go-round session at the rodeo.

"It was a great feeling to come out and compete with the big dogs," he said.

The 10 competitors in tie-down roping came in separated from top to bottom by less than $1,300, meaning the winner of Saturday's competition would grab the crown. Roberts, with a time of 7.As a Canada Goose Camp Down filling, the good quality of down leather-based performs a vital position in the brand's popularity.1 seconds on the final run out of the chute, nipped Sterling Smith of Stephenville by four-tenths of a second.

"That was kind of a lot of pressure, being the last guy and having that calf," Roberts said. This Canada Goose Chateau Parka Orange has generous appearance that make you look fashion and attractive in the crowd.

Shada Brazile captured her championship — by $164 over runner-up Syndi Blanchard, who recorded a 14.03 time — despite being the first rider out in her division. After completing the run, Brazile led her horse, Big Boy, to the back of a tunnel of the arena and waited out the other nine women.

"I was in shock," she said when officials called her back.A great blend of our authentic Canada Goose Whistler Parka Parka functionality and cutting edge style. "I thought they were mispronouncing Syndi's name."

Her husband found her shortly afterward, picking her up and twirling her around.

And then, Shada said, "Imagine that, he already took my check."

Deputatskoye, Russia: Ever since the meteor exploded somewhere over this impoverished Siberian town, Larisa V. Briyukova wondered what to do with the fist-size stone she found under a hole in the roof tiles of her woodshed.

On Monday,Women Canada Goose Whistler Parka. a stranger knocked on her door, offering about $60, Briyukova said. After some haggling, they settled on a price of $230.
A few hours later, another man pulled up, looked at the hole in the roof and offered $1,300.

"Now I regret selling it," said Briyukova, a 43-year-old homemaker. "But then, who knows? The police might have come and taken it away anyway. The Canada Goose Mystique Parka held the heat in for miss Romijn, and it will do the same for you."

On Friday, terror rained from the skies, blowing out windows and scaring people over an enormous swath of Siberia. But by Monday, for many people what fell from the sky had turned to pure gold, and it touched off a rush to retrieve the fragments, many buried in deep February snows.

Many of those out prospecting looked a lot like Sasha Zarezina, 8, who happily plunged into a snowbank here in this village of 1,000, laughing, kicking and throwing up plumes of powdery snow.

Then she stopped, bent over and started to dig. "I found one!" she yelled.
A warm breath and a rub on her pants later, a small black pebble, oval like a river rock, charred and smooth, was freed of ice.

Early on, NASA reported that the meteor, the largest known celestial body to enter Earth's atmosphere in 100 years, was an airburst fireball type that would shower untold thousands of fragments onto the surface.

In the scramble now under way to find them, residents of towns like this one - founded in the 1920s around a collective dairy farm that is now defunct - are looking for small holes in the snow that hold the promise of yielding up polished black rocks encased in tiny clumps of ice, formed from the last expiring heat of their long journey.

"All it takes is looking carefully," said Sasha, who was out searching after school on Monday. "The stones are in the snowdrifts. To find a stone you find a hole. And then you dig."
Villagers here have plastic bags, matchboxes and jars filled with dozens of stones. One even tore a hole in the coat one woman was wearing outside Friday morning.

But this is Russia, so the excitement became tinged with anxiety on Monday as unknown cars appeared, cruising the streets and bearing men who refused to answer questions but offered stacks of rubles worth hundreds, then thousands, of dollars for the fragments. Strangely, no authorities were anywhere in sight.

M3-Media,The best online shop for sale the hot sell Men's HyBridge Jacket. a financial news site, reported that under Russian law a person can gain legal title to a meteorite, but only if it is reported to the authorities and submitted to a laboratory for tests. The laboratory will charge 20 percent of the estimated value of the object for certification, the site reported, citing the Russian Academy of Sciences.

In practice, though, the search for remnants of the meteor has become a haphazard, unregulated scramble, wholly lacking coordinated effort or scientific oversight in the collection of specimens from one of the most significant events in years for the community of scientists who study such things.
"We don't have a mechanism to prevent this from happening," said Victor Grokhovsky, an assistant professor of metallurgy at Southern Ural Federal University, one of the scientists who made the positive identification of meteorites on Monday.A great blend of our authentic Canada Goose Montebello Parka functionality and cutting edge style.

Law enforcement agencies actually blocked scientists from visiting a suspected impact site on Lake Chebarkul over the weekend, Grokhovsky said. Yet here at Deputatskoye, where the first scientific expedition is planned for Tuesday, not a police officer was in sight.
"We send up spaceships to asteroids to obtain this material, at great expense, and here it flew right to us," he said. "It would be nice if the government coordinated with us, the scientists. When we want to be somewhere, they won't let us near. When we want them to be somewhere, they are nowhere to be found."

The fragments landed in a social landscape of distrust of authorities, where police corruption is widespread.
With word of the rising prices rippling through the village, some women, looking with piercing, paranoid eyes at strangers, refused to speak about what their children might have found. Others expressed fear that the police would confiscate the stones - and in turn sell them.

"Nobody knows anything; nobody says anything," one said.
Another said, unconvincingly, "We threw our stones away.Discover the largest collection of discount gucci handbags for women."

The intact meteor, estimated by NASA to weigh about 7,000 tons, bore immense energy as it entered the atmosphere over Alaska. It was the largest source of infrasound waves - low-frequency waves of pressure - ever recorded by a system set up globally to monitor compliance with the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty.

But after the meteor exploded, the small bits of debris slowed to terminal velocity, about the speed of a piece of gravel dropped from a skyscraper. Such remnants would not create craters on touchdown.
All about, tracks meander through the deep snow, ending at tiny excavations two or three feet deep.

"They fell everywhere in the village,"Alfia N. Zharkova, a mother of two, who has a plastic bag filled with black stones, said in an interview in her kitchen. "The children find them. Everybody who has children has piles of these."

She found one Friday. "I went out to feed the cow and I see a hole in the ice," Zharkova said. "And there's a stone in the hole. So I just reach down and pick it up."
A neighbor, Alexandra Gerasimova, a 61-year-old retired milkmaid, said a meteorite tore a hole in her coat, which she displayed Monday. She was wearing it on Friday when she stepped outside to investigate the flash in the sky.

"I was standing with my husband, and some of it fell on us," Gerasimova said. "This rock fell down and into my jacket. I felt it hit me. I looked up, and there was nothing above me, not a bird, nothing. Imagine how frightened I was."

On Monday, two men, apparently speculators, showed up at her house and offered to buy her stone.
"I didn't open the door," she said. "Why should I sell it? I have a grandson I will give it to."

When the school bus pulled up Monday afternoon, children shot out and scattered over the snowy fields.

After Sasha, a boisterous girl in a maroon jacket and tan checkered pants, found the small pebble in the snow, she said she intended to "save it for my own children," but quickly reconsidered. "I will sell it for 100 million euros."
"Now I have snow in my boot," the little Russian girl confessed, but added: "I'm used to the cold. I like the cold. I grew up in the cold.

Glamorous animal prints, a touch of punk, polished tailoring, furry collars and lashings of shiny PVC are what's new for fashion in the coming winter.

London fashion week wrapped up Tuesday after a whirlwind of runway previews that offered a huge variety of looks from dozens of designers, but one thing seemed clear: Winter/fall 2013 offers many styles wearable by women who aren't necessarily models.Discover the largest collection of discount gucci handbags for women.

That's not to say the looks were boring or conventional. Glossy rubberized material was everywhere, as were boxy, roomy jacket shapes. There were punk-inspired biker zips and a black and red theme at Preen, but clean and minimalist tailoring kept the outfits sophisticated. Erdem offered dark dresses brightened up with neon florals, while Roksanda Ilincic clashed peachy pinks with fluorescent green and emerald.

"It's about daring to bring the pink into winter because it's such a spring colour, and it's such a girlie colour," the designer said after her show on Tuesday. The Canada Goose Mystique Parka held the heat in for miss Romijn, and it will do the same for you.

Vivienne Westwood delivered what she does best: draped dresses and jackets that magically create hourglass shapes for the wearer.

Colour-wise, Ilincic and others brought pink and coral to the catwalk, but a deep palette of burgundy and wine, navy and bottle green was most popular.

Compared to New York, Milan or Paris, London fashion attracts many with its younger, more urban vibe, and catwalk shows were often full of creative, theatrical, or even madcap looks.

"I find it an exuberant, inspirational city, so that's why I chose to show here," said Ford, who staged a lavish runway showcase on Monday night, marking the first full-fledged catwalk show for his Tom Ford brand.

But increasingly, designers based in the capital are encouraged to take a more business-savvy approach to fashion.

"Before it was more like an art show, but now — now the creativity is still there, though with collections that are saleable, that generate a profitable business," said British Fashion Council chief executive Caroline Rush.

A few Saturdays ago, Rosemary Moore was repainting her bedroom. Butter yellow, with white accents. As she lifted her brush to the wall, she noticed a rivulet of water. She glanced up – no leaks. She raised her paintbrush – and it happened again.Where can i get Canada Goose Resolute Parka?

"Water was pouring out my rubber glove!"

That day, the temperature in her West Auckland roof hit 43 degrees. It was hot.

According to the adage, animals sweat, gentlemen perspire and ladies glow. But on that Saturday, Rosemary was most definitely sweating.

And now we're two-thirds through February, that sunniest, most settled of months. Students swelter in classrooms, office workers curse inevitable air conditioning breakdowns and record temperatures are collected (42 degrees Celsius in Rangiora in 1973). We glow, we perspire, we sweat like pigs. It's only natural – but we don't like it.

In 2011,Pages in category "german uniforms". New Zealand imported a record $16 million worth of personal deodorants – up more than $4 million on 2005. The United Nations Commodity Trade Statistics database rated our appetite for antiperspirant 46th in the world, one place behind Slovenia and one ahead of Finland (Germans took out the top spot, spending a whopping $197 million).

One forecast estimates that by 2017, the global deodorants market will be worth $13.Where to buy moncler jackets?8 billion as rising income levels in developing markets drive demand.

Sweat is universal. It's also natural. So why is it the scourge of modern society?

"People associate sweat with body odour," says Dr Vincent St Aubyn Crump, an Auckland specialist physician with interests in dermatology and allergies. "We're always sweating, but it's not always noticeable."

Spicy food and nerves can induce sweating, says Crump, but its main purpose is to regulate body temperature. "When you sweat, water evaporates from your skin. It's physics. That evaporation causes skin to cool down."

The catch? "Humidity needs to be low enough for that water to escape. If the outside is already saturated with water, then there's nowhere for that water to go."

It takes up to six weeks to acclimatise to humidity. The traditional sauna that is New Zealand in February just doesn't last long enough for our bodies to adjust.

"They reckon we have about four million sweat glands," says Crump. "And the maximum amount of sweat anyone can produce in a day is between 10-14 litres."

It comes from, mostly, our eccrine glands (concentrated on our palms, the soles of our feet and our foreheads), but also from our apocrine glands. The latter kick in at puberty: under our arms, and around our groin and nipples. The sweat here is thicker and creamier,Welcome to supraskateshoes And Buy 2013 Authentic Beats By Dre.Shop the latest buy monster beats on the world's largest fashion ... richer in proteins and fatty acids that, once on the skin's surface, get broken down by ever-present bacteria, causing that most unpleasant side effect of sweat – body odour.

We all sweat, all the time. But about three percent of the population truly suffers. Hyperhydrosis is a condition that causes excessive sweat "without good cause".

"It's partly a genetic condition," explains Crump.

"It usually starts as a teenager... when they're afraid, angry, all of that, it will be worse, but they'll also get it just sitting down quietly."

While regular sweaters reach for deodorants and antiperspirants, botox injections are the preferred line of defence for severe sufferers. "It cuts off the nerve endings. You need the nerves to stimulate the glands, and the botox just blocks that pathway."

Crump says there is a misperception hyperhydrosis sufferers might not be as "hygienic" as those who sweat less. "We ‘allow' sweat if someone's out jogging. But if somebody takes their jacket off and their armpits are dripping wet and it's the middle of winter... people don't understand."

Sweat is associated with hard, physical work and exercise. Nations were built on it; teams win with it.

So when did sweat become the bogeyman?

When Kathleen Jordan stopped at a Victoria's Secret a year ago to buy something for herself, the visit had an unintended consequence: Her 13-year-old daughter got hooked on Pink, the lingerie brand's young collegiate line.

"Now she has more bras than I do, in every color under the sun," said Jordan, a principal at design and architecture firm Gensler in New York. "She's not alone — all her girlfriends are into Pink, too. I recently overheard one of her girlfriends excitedly sharing the details of her favorite Christmas gift from Pink."

Limited Brands's Victoria's Secret isn't the only retailer generating sales as it becomes more acceptable for middle-and high-school girls to show off bras under clothing and buy intimates. Teen chains are, too. Hot Topic is testing an edgy lingerie line called Blackheart, and Urban Outfitters, which has said intimates could eventually make up 10 per cent of sales, has bolstered such offerings across its brands. Even Justice, the store for seven- to 12-year-olds owned by Tween Brands, is selling $21.90 tie-dye bras and $9 flowered panties online.

Retailers are taking care to present the garments as cute versus sexy, said Marcie Merriman, founder of retail and brand strategy consultancy PrimalGrowth in Columbus, Ohio.

Stores are "all going to say they're targeting 18- to 22- year-olds, but the reality is you're going to get the younger customer," she said. US retail sales growth slowed last month, according to the Commerce Department, climbing 0.1 per cent amid stubborn joblessness and higher taxes. Clothing stores eager to boost sales see a goldmine in women's intimates.

The category now generates more than $11.1 billion in annual sales, according to NPD Group, a Port Washington, New York-based market research firm. Limited Brands has said its approximately $1.5 billion Pink brand may be a $3 billion business in a few years.

Limited Brands, American Eagle Outfitters Inc.Where can i get Canada Goose Resolute Parka? and Hot Topic were among the top-performing retail stocks last year. Limited Brands gained 17 percent, Hot Topic rallied 46 percent and American Eagle rose 34 percent, compared with a 13 percent increase for the Standard and Poor's 500 Index. About 96 percent of analysts recommend holding or buying Limited Brands shares, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. All 24 analysts surveyed recommend buying or holding American Eagle.

A decade ago girls had little choice in underwear; a first bra was typically a plain garment bought at a department store or discounter such as Target Corp. and Kohl's Corp.

Sensuality Message
"Sensuality and body image continues to be a message that young girls are seeing and are being exposed to in a much less controlled fashion perhaps than even 10, 12 years ago," said Dan Stanek, executive vice president at brand consultancy Big Red Rooster in Columbus,Shop the latest buy monster beats on the world's largest fashion ... Ohio. They're aiming to imitate the lingerie styles worn by role models and celebrities seen on the Web and social media, he said.

Victoria's Secret was among the first to tap the market, introducing Pink in 2004. The sub-brand is geared toward college girls, with sweatshirts emblazoned with university sports team logos and brightly-colored bras and panties. Limited Brands is opening freestanding Pink stores and adding more of the merchandise to Victoria's Secret locations.

The brand, while shopped by a variety of ages, is a hit with younger customers and working to lure more. At the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in November, the company hired teen heartthrob Justin Bieber to perform during a segment showcasing Pink merchandise.

College Cool
"When somebody's 15- or 16-years-old, what do they want to be?" Stuart Burgdoerfer, chief financial officer of the Columbus, Ohio-based company, said at a conference in Miami last month. "They want to be older, and they want to be cool like the girl in college, and that's part of the magic of what we do at Pink.Pages in category "german uniforms"."

Teen retailer American Eagle, which introduced its $250 million Aerie intimates brand in 2006, is also betting on the category, opening more stores alongside namesake locations and expanding online. It's leveraging pop culture as a marketing tool, as well. Last month, the Pittsburgh-based company said it hired Jenn Rogien, the costume designer for HBO's "Girls," as Aerie's style and fit expert for six months.

American Eagle, which had 154 Aerie stores as of Oct. 27, started carrying more bras, underwear and loungewear in the past couple of years while cutting back on broader apparel.

Timely Category
"It has been timely because you do see this as a growing category in the industry for sure," Jennifer Foyle, Aerie's senior vice president of global merchandising, said in a telephone interview from Hong Kong, where she was traveling for business.

A major part of that is the fashion trend of wearing bright, lacy bandeau tops, bras that allow multiple strap positions and longer items called bralettes that can be glimpsed under tank tops, crop tops and other shirts. The bra as a fashion item has grown popular at outdoor music festivals, with Aerie even promoting a "Concert Bra" -- which can be worn on its own or under a blouse or jacket -- in conjunction with the Coachella festival last year,Well-known brand of skateboard shoes supra shoes for girls Posted Wino. she said.

Lingerie makers have to be careful adjusting their messaging for a younger audience so it's more about the girl and less about dressing in a way that's appealing for men, Merriman of PrimalGrowth said.

"We really use the word ‘pretty' more than ‘sexy' --that's really not the Aerie girl," Foyle said. "We see this white space out there for the kind of trends we want to address. We see Gen Y as a very confident young lady who doesn't need to be the showy supermodel, she's just confident in herself."

Rock Star
Limited fell 1 percent to $44.27 at 9:32 a.m. in New York while American Eagle declined 0.1 percent to $20.19. Hot Topic was unchanged at $10.94.

For Hot Topic's new Blackheart lingerie line, Chief Executive Officer Lisa Harper described a customer searching for a different look than that worn by Victoria's Secret's iconic supermodels.

"We feel like the darker, edgier, sexier rock star mentality works well with our core brand," she said in a telephone interview. Blackheart, which recently featured a $20 skull-print balconette bra and $65 cheetah-print lace corset among top picks on its website,Where to buy moncler jackets? hopes to draw in graduates of the Hot Topic stores in their late teens and 20s, she said.

The dark, neon-lit stores contrast with the bubblegum appeal of Victoria's Secret's Pink stores and Harper said the models intentionally look older than those at Aerie as Blackheart is not looking for a young teenage customer.

"Victoria's Secret has taught the consumer that they should have this fantastic experience while they're shopping for their lingerie and intimate apparel, and the department stores aren't as able to give that specialized perspective or experience to the customer," Harper said. "Other specialty players are looking at providing that equivalent or a better experience."

The vehicle pulled up to the front entrance of the continuing-care retirement community on Stanwick Road. Janet exited, but not before pushing buttons that automatically open the van's side doors and drop the handicapped ramp.

Gabrielle steered her motorized wheelchair onto the pathway. Janet pulled her daughter's black cardigan around Gabrielle's shoulders before they headed off to the holiday-decorated lobby of the facility.

Papageno, her white Havapeke dog (a Havanese-Pekingese mix) was wearing a jacket that reads “Therapy Dog. I am friendly. Pet me.” He sat snugly on Gabrielle's lap, heedless of today's task. Within a matter of minutes, the duo would be the main feature, bringing forth giggles from residents with Alzheimer's disease.

Born on April 29, 1988, Gabrielle, who lives with her family in town, was diagnosed with mild spastic diplegia cerebral palsy shortly before her first birthday. She has difficulty walking, sitting and navigating daily life skills like bathing and eating. But what Gabrielle may lack in physical vigor, she makes up for in stark mental determination.

While bringing some joy to those with memory disorders, Gabrielle said this is her way of contributing to the world and campaigning on behalf of disabled people like herself.

“She's really like an ambassador,” said Janet of her youngest child. She and her husband Ralph Korkor, 63, a surgeon, have another daughter Justine, 26. “What amazes me still is what I've learned and am still learning from her, even though she's had so many obstacles.”

Just like she's been doing for the last three years, Gabrielle and Papageno wheeled into one of the parlors where seven women and one man were seated, some just back from the afternoon activity of ring toss.

“People should know that people with disabilities are still people,” said Gabrielle. “When we go to the nursing homes, (the residents') faces light up. They go from being sad to happy.”

Nancy Walsh, 82, put her knitting needles down and cuddled with Papageno, as he licked her fingers.

“His nose is cold, so he must be in good health,” said Walsh, happily.Shop for Canada Goose Whistler Parka online.

“Gloria, Papageno is here to see you today. Do you remember him?” said Gabrielle to Gloria Linton, 81, dressed in a purple pantsuit, who was decorating a gingerbread house with gumdrops.

“I used to have a boxer named Jumbo,” said Linton smiling, as she rubbed Papageno's ears. “I have a picture of him in my room.”

Janet was 26 weeks into her pregnancy when Gabrielle was born weighing 1 pound, 14 ounces, a micro-preemie, no bigger than an adult's hand. Janet had developed placenta previa, a condition that causes the placenta to lie low in the uterus.

For four months, Gabrielle stayed in the hospital, and it became clear that something was wrong. She remained on oxygen, and didn't reach infant milestones, such as rolling over and lifting her head.
